Education
Daniel L. Jacobs began investing in stocks as an economics undergraduate at Miami University, Ohio. After receiving an
MBA from Emory University, Jacobs went to work in the Atlanta banking industry where he distinguished himself by focusing on international finance. He received his Charter Financial Analyst designation in 1983.
Experience
Jacobs has developed a patient and savvy eye for global and international investment opportunities; first as a member of The First National Bank of Atlanta’s trust department, then during his 10-year tenure with the venerated Franklin Templeton mutual fund group. While at Templeton, Jacobs managed and selected stocks for $3.4 billion in mutual funds and institutional accounts. Jacob's excellent track record
propelled him to positions as Senior Portfolio Manager, Director, and eventually as Executive Vice-President, all the while working extensively with global investing pioneer, Sir John Templeton. In 1995, Jacobs took his years of knowledge and experience and established his
own firm, Jacobs Asset Management, where he managed $600 million in assets and equities for a broad array of esteemed clients.
Recognition
Jacobs is a founding member of the International Society of Financial Analysts. His 20 years as a successful mutual fund/institutional portfolio manager, have included appearances on MSNBC and NBC’s The Today Show to discuss international and global investing. Additionally, Jacobs has been interviewed or recognized by magazines such as Barron’s, Forbes, Fortune, Money, U.S. News & World Report, MSCI NewsWatch, and Business Weekly. His excellent and highly-praised track record as an investor has also been acknowledged by industry intelligence sources such as Lipper Analytical Services. |
